Community Grants

Komen Memphis-MidSouth is the local source for funding breast cancer detection, support and educational awareness in the Mid-South. Through its 2017-2018 community grants, Komen Memphis-MidSouth is investing $402,000 in education, diagnosis, treatment and support programs in our local communities to ten local organizations that serve uninsured or underinsured residents in our service area. Since it was founded in 1993, Komen Memphis-MidSouth has invested almost $10.5 million in local breast health agencies and organizations.

It is estimated that 1 million women live in the Memphis area alone. The funds Komen Memphis-MidSouth grants to community programs in our service area have made a positive difference in the lives of those living with this deadly disease.

During the 2017-2018 grant cycle Komen Memphis-MidSouth and our grantees will provide services to more than 5,500 and provide educational materials to over 25,000 people in our 21-county service area.

On August 1, 2017, Komen Memphis-MidSouth expanded our service area to include 16 counties that were formerly served by Komen North Mississippi.

Our commitment to all who live in –Alcorn, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Clay, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee, Lowndes, Monroe, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Oktibbeha, Tishomingo, Tippah and Union counties is strong and our goal remains the same: saving lives here at home.

We are committed to saving lives by reducing deaths from breast cancer in the U.S. by 50% by 2026.  To help accomplish this we will work to provide breast health education and fund breast health care programs and services with quality providers for all women and men, regardless of age, who are underserved, underinsured, or uninsured in Memphis-Mid South and across the state of Mississippi.  We also will help fund the best breast cancer research across the nation.

We remain committed to granting funds in the community in which they are raised, so your participation (registration, donation, voluntarism) is vital in helping us meet the needs of Northeast Mississippi.

Below are the list of current grants in our service area.
