Fundraising for Komen
Planning a Fundraising Activity?
We are honored to be contacted so often by passionate members of our community wanting to organize an event or promotion benefiting breast cancer awareness and research. Susan G. Komen Memphis-MidSouth partners with others because it benefits both parties in terms of public awareness.
Step 1: Read through our Third Party Event Guidelines to assist you in planning your event or promotion.
Step 2: If after you have read the guidelines, and are interested in entering into an agreement with Susan G. Komen Memphis-MidSouth, complete the Third Party Event Proposal Form
Step 3: Still have questions? Contact Mandy Powell at email@example.com or call 901.757.8686
All 3rd party fundraisers are reviewed on an individual basis. Depending on the time of year, it may take up to 72 hours before you hear from Komen Memphis-MidSouth. Please note that you may not begin promoting your event until you have a signed agreement.
What is a Letter of Agreement? The Letter of Agreement formalizes the partnership between the community fundraiser and Komen. It details event specifics (date, time, place etc), provides the donation structure, and covers detailed event guidelines. It also gives the community fundraiser rights to the Komen Memphis-MidSouth name and logo under certain conditions.
If you determine that the size of your event does not warrant the effort to follow the Third Party Event Guidelines, there are three other ways to support Komen:
For smaller events, there are three other ways to support Komen:
Option 1: You may want to consider registering for Passionately Pink for the Cure®. This program allows individuals, business and clubs/groups to fundraise for Komen. The website provides resources for your fundraising activities as well as a customizable web page. Learn how you can become Passionately Pink!
Option 2: You may want to consider not using the Komen name/logo and instead making a general statement that the funds raised will go to a local breast health organization or breast cancer research and support. We would be honored to receive funds raised and would give public recognition for your donation.
Option 3: Rally for the Cure® has expanded their well-established golf program to other events. You can now plan a Rally for the Cure® program for sporting events like golf and tennis, dinner events such as wine-tasting or group/club activities such as a bridge or book clubs.
